World Cup 2010 – South Africa faces Mexico in World Cup 2010 opener
Everything is good to go for World Cup South Africa 2010 to kickoff in just a couple more days. This is the planet’s most important and prestigious soccer tournament and perhaps one of the finest sporting events.
The tournament is schedule to begin on June 11th. The National teams from Mexico and South Africa will be the protagonists of the first opening game that inaugurates the competition.
This is the third time that South Africa participates in a World Cup event. Their first came back in France 98, then on Korea-Japan 2002. In both tournaments the team was not able to make it pass the first round of games.
South Africa has one big responsibility. They really need to bring on their A game to the tournament. They really don’t want to be the first host country not to make it pass the groups round robin phase of the tournament.
There is a lot of preassure upon the hosting team. That’s why the Bafana Bafana have trained as hard as they can. They have overcome many obstacles in their route to this opening game. This is the first time that the World Cup is going to be held in the African continent, so that doubles the expectations.
Carlos Alberto Parrerira, the recurring national team head coach for South Africa had been part of the team in 2007 and 2008. He returned half into 2009 to guide the team and prepare them for the challenging tournament. There is a program that hopes to bring South African players to improve in their professional game. The sports press has qualified the team as been highly irregular and unreliable. This is the best chance they have to take that stigma off their back.
The Bafana Bafana knows very well that Mexico is quite a difficult team to face in the first game. The Mexican has a lot of potential and could really give the host team a hard time on their first game. Parreira, on the other hand, stays calm. He is well aware of the talent he’s got among him men. Even more, playing at home should give the South African team an edge.
The South African national team is trying to prove the soccer world that they are a capable team. The men are not going to give in that easily. They have not lost a single game in the friendly matches they have played prior to the World Cup.
Aaron Mokoena, the team’s captain, believes that they do have an advantage by playing at home and having talented players in the pitch, as well as the fact that they are guided by an experienced coach. They have the talent and the motivation to give the Mexicans a big surprise in game 1.
The Mexican National team, the other great star in the first game, has played in thirteen World Cups. They have a good record of at least making it to the second round.
Mexico has been characterized as a strong team. En route to South Africa 2010, the team managed to defeat Italy, the defending champion, 2-1 in a friendly game just a couple days ago.
The Mexicans have in their team some very talented players that know very well how to pass the ball and be a thread in the midfield. Their strikers are fast and quite lethal in the offensive end.
Mexican Head Coach, Javier Aguirre, has studied many tapes and has come with a plan to deploy his most talented players against the South African defense. He has made a few last minute changes in his startup. He hopes these little variants might pay off at the end.
In their last game South Africa won 1-0 against Denmark. The South Africans seemed like a fresher team, with good control over the ball and that knows how to change from offensive to defensive play smoothly.
Both teams are going through a good moment. This will be a good ingredient for the opening game in South Africa 2010 World Cup.
Is Watching Television A Sociable Activity?
How often do you watch television? Most of us watch television for typically three and a half hours every day. That equates to watching from around 7pm to 10.30pm every evening, for example. Does that describe your viewing habits?
Regardless of how often you happen to watch television, the real question is how it affects the rest of your life. How many of us watch soap operas instead of picking up the phone to call a friend or family member? How many of us put television above other social activities?
It can sound like a negative influence when you think of television in its most basic terms, but this isn’t necessarily the case.
Christmas television is one of the best examples of television becoming a sociable activity. There is nothing better than having everyone sitting together and watching some of the family films that are a key part of every festive period.
Think about sport as well. Do you watch major sporting events with your family? Maybe you watch the Wimbledon tennis finals, the Open Golf Championships or even the Olympics. All of these and more give you the chance to talk to your family about which sports you like the best and who is backing which player.
Television is even a major part of a night out to the pub. How many pubs do you know that have a big screen that shows all the big football games? You can’t get much more sociable while watching television than this!
Instead of staying at home and watching something on your own you can turn it into an event that you will remember for longer. You can also enjoy being with your friends and family more than you would be normally. Doesn’t that sound like a great sociable activity to get involved in?
It applies at all ages as well. Plenty of mums and dads sit down with their young children and watch educational programmes that help the kids learn all kinds of skills, not least their letters and numbers. These programmes are on lots of different channels as well, which means this kind of sociable activity can be arranged to suit the other needs and demands of a busy family household.
Another big benefit of modern television is that there are a lot more channels to watch than there were a couple of decades ago. Fresh programming choices are available to suit the whole family via Sky TV as well as cable television and the terrestrial channels.
So when we think about television as taking time away from other social activities perhaps we should think about it in more detail. As you can see, it can be a positive event and a way to learn more than we ever have before about the world around us.

Digital TV Explained
Digital TV can be received in four different ways, each with its own features and suppliers. The service that you are able to receive may depend on whereabouts you live.
Digital Cable TV is supplied by either Telewest or NTL depending on where you live in the country. You receive your digital TV through cables in the ground via a set top box. Cable companies also offer a host of competitive broadband and telephone packages alongside digital TV. It will usually be cheaper to buy a package comprising all three services than to obtain them individually from different service providers.
Digital Satellite TV is supplied by Sky Digital. Digital signals are sent and received by satellites meaning you need a mini-disc attached to your property in order to receive digital satellite TV via a digi-box. Sky Digital now offers free broadband to their customers. Sky is well known to be the UK’s main supplier of Premiership Football, indeed having exclusive rights in recent years to show live Premier League. Although this monopoly has now been broken, the vast majority of top flight football is still with Sky. Their top packages include 4 dedicated in-house sports channels plus their extensive movie suite, Sky Movies.
Normally, both cable and satellite television customers will have a similar choice of channels, grouped into packages, such as sport, films, news, music and education. It is therefore possible to tailor your channels to your tastes and therefore save money compared to ordering the full selection.
Cable and Satellite viewers tend also to have access to interactive services unlike terrestrial customers. This includes enhanced sports coverage where viewers may select their camera angle, or additional behind the scenes footage for their favourite soap opera or drama. Cable customers subscribing to Telewest can choose to watch selected television programmes on demand through the new Teleport service, with includes many past series of comedy, drama and documentaries, as well as programmes aired on the BBC over the past 7 days.
From a technical angle, both of these options (satellite and cable) will require a technician to come to your home for installation, although this is commonly carried out free of charge if you choose carefully when to order.
Free to Air Digital TV is received via your existing TV aerial and decoded using a set-top box or integrated digital TV. The most common form is Freeview. Your ability to receive free to air digital TV depends on where you live and the type of aerial you have. Existing aerials can be upgraded in order to receive the service if necessary. The Freeview service is a cut down version of Sky’s digital satellite selection, and Telewest and NTL’s cable choices, and is primarily made up of content supplied by the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation). At the time of writing, Freeview carries over 30 channels, covering news, politics, terrestrial channels (in digital quality), comedy, drama, films and sports news amongst others
Digital ASDL TV is received via a high speed internet connection through a standard telephone line. This service is strictly limited to trial areas for the time being. It is widely anticipated that this will become a commonplace method of viewing for a large section of the population in the future.
Play Soccer Like The Pros
Play Soccer Like The Pros
In every undertaking there are usually certain principals that are more important than others. In our goal of becoming the best soccer players in the world we have to pay close attention to what these principals are. We may take for granted watching a team such as Barcelona dominate play week in and week out but it is unmistakable that their speed of distribution plays a major role in their success and it makes a lot of sense. If you can play the ball faster than your opponents can adjust it gives you a huge advantage in attack, especially in tight quarters in front of the goal. This is something that has to be practiced and practiced after the basic soccer skills have been thoroughly mastered.
Now that we know this key principal what is another? I believe having available players to distribute the ball to is another. In watching Barcelona play I notice that the team often moves in unison of five players together over twenty or thirty yards, four in a square and one in the middle. This seems very smart since it gives the player with the ball many different options. This is also something that to implement takes a very sharp soccer coach that is able to discipline his soccer players in this manner.
We must note that these tactical soccer maneuvers are used often and seem to be effortlessly preformed by the best soccer players in the world, but like anything else done successfully laser like focus to execution and repetition is the key to success. I have been fortunate to have trained at one of the best sport schools in Germany many years ago and the coaches were relentless with their expectations of perfection to even the smallest detail. Young players are expected to focus and concentrate to make the training as beneficial as possible keeping in mind the restraints of time available for team training.
I would suggest that U.S. soccer coaches may take a lesson from German soccer coaches in demanding high levels of skills during practice sessions. During the game is a different manner as I don’t believe during the game is time to critique a players performance.
I think that the U.S. is clearly on the right path to becoming a world soccer power however I think we need to sharpen our game with more intense training sessions for the top players and probably having these sessions more often in the range of three to four training sessions per week and also encourage individual player practice at home.

Betting Tips And The Value Bet In Soccer Betting
In his book “Betting to win” Prof. Williams wrote: “If ever there was a golden age of betting, this is it”. He was absolutely right. In today’s world of soccer betting, we enjoy the services of bookmakers, online betting tips and media news. But still there remain two important questions any punter has to answer prior to placing his stake: who is the favorite and what bet to place. Online betting resources such as betting tips sites, team analysis made by experts and the media news help you to choose the match favorite and even to estimate the probability of win in no time. However, counting your profits at the end of the season, you find them, at the very least, disappointing. Why? The reason is clear: bad money management. This article summarizes a research conducted in order to estimate the optimal parameters for money management strategies. The research is based on a comparison between statistics of top vs. secondary European soccer leagues playing in 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons.DefinitionsIn order to present the results of the research, a number of definitions are required.
SummaryA punter’s average profit from soccer betting is calculated for value bets from 1.01 to 2. The optimal value bet was found to be 1.38, offering in an average profit of 12% for the top European Soccer Leagues. However, the optimal value bet for the secondary leagues was found to be 1.5, resulting in the average profit of 19%. This difference means that a punter must have a higher confidence when betting on a secondary league, than when betting on a top league. The profit is higher because bookmakers’ predictions are worse, resulting in attractive betting odds for punters.

Training For Soccer Fitness – Total Soccer Fitness
Good soccer fitness levels are the backbone of every soccer player. Without good fitness levels, your performance on the field will simply not be any good. Also, good fitness will protect you from many injuries. For these reasons, we can say that training for soccer fitness is crucial if you want to develop as a soccer player. Only players that are in good physical shape can expect to perform better.Click Here For Total Soccer Fitness Instant Access Now!Now what is soccer fitness? Well, there are a variety of definitions, but it can be described as the five S’s – speed, strength, stamina, suppleness, and skill. It can also be associated with specificity or what you need to become fit for.It can be difficult to determine which areas of fitness are required, especially in a team sports like soccer. The types required will depend upon positions and role in the team, but one key area is skill and specificity. Soccer players should be soccer players first and athletes second. However, this doesn’t mean that their athletic areas of fitness, speed, strength, or stamina are not important. In fact, they are, but skill and specificity are perhaps the most important. A very skilled player, for example, who cannot last the whole match due to lack of stamina, or cannot get to the ball due to lack of speed, is not as useful to the team as the player who has slightly less skill, but more speed and stamina. There are two ways that fitness is measured in soccer – aerobic and anaerobic. Aerobic fitness simply involves lots of oxygen intake and gives your heart and lungs a workout. This part of fitness will determine the level at which you can breathe in and use oxygen to give you power to perform an activity. Anaerobic fitness, on the other hand, is completely about intensity. Again, individual skills and team play are the key elements to success, but only having fitness can make a good player better.
