Internet Marketing for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa – Part 1
As the biggest single-code sporting event in terms of television audience in the world, the FIFA World Cup Soccer tournament is held every four years. Bigger even than the Olympic Games, this year’s tournament is the 19th since it began. Sepp Blatter, president of FIFA, is delighted as he has always dreamed of bringing this prestigious tournament to Africa.
The World Cup commences on 9th June 2010 and takes place over the next four weeks with the final match being held in Johannesburg on 11th July. Billions of viewers around the world will watch the games, making it the most watched sport on television in the world. The worldwide interest in the World Cup is massive and this makes it on outstanding internet marketing opportunity.
It is a known fact that South Africa, the hosting country, will benefit enormously from the FIFA 2010 World Cup. More than 129,000 jobs have been created, contributing roughly $3 billion to the country’s GDP. Out of this, $1 billion will go to the government in taxes. Also, it is estimated that about 350,000 people will travel to South Africa for the World Cup and will spend a further $1.3 billion. This is most important for internet marketing.
About 3 million tickets will be sold and there will be hundreds of public viewing venues with giant screen televisions for those unable to get tickets to the games. Visitors will be able to travel, go on sightseeing tours and visit world famous heritage sites such as Table Mountain, the Cradle of Humankind and Robben Island.
South Africans are proud of their warm hospitality and the nightlife will be a major attraction for visitors. There are nightclubs, bars, wine bars and “shebeens”, the local name for informal taverns, all of which are a great way to have fun. The hospitality and travel industries will be a major focus for internet marketers as these activities will be the busiest for the visitors.
Visitors to South Africa will be making use of the internet to find places of interest and venues for enjoyment. This is why effective internet marketing for businesses in these niches is necessary to take advantage of these great opportunities. Strong campaigns managed by internet marketers can ensure that various places of interest such as bed & breakfasts, hotels, pubs, sightseeing venues etc. get the online exposure they need to make money.
The 19th FIFA World Cup tournament is an outstanding opportunity for hospitality, retail, travel and entertainment businesses to make their mark in the South African economy.
In Part 2, we will look at the hospitality industry and how to use internet marketing to increase revenue during the 2010 World Cup.
World Cup Betting – PORTUGAL vs BRAZIL
Finally, the Group Of Death lives up to its title. Every World Cup seems to bring together a group like this, where a few, if not all of the teams, have a realistic shot at winning the Cup. This time around, two powerhouses in the world square off against each other in a Group G matchup between Brazil and Portugal on June 25th. This could be a very tough game for World Cup betting . Who do you pick? The mighty Brazilians bring a load of talent and winning history to this World Cup. Being the only country to ever win the Copa five times, they will field a team that will include two previous FIFA World Player Of The Year winners in Kaka and Ronaldinho These talented and proven midfielders, who play for top clubs Real Madrid and AC Milan, respectively, will be joined in the attack by winger Robinho (club: Manchester City), and striker Luis Fabiano (Sevilla). The defense will be anchored by veteran Lucio (Inter Milan), who will be playing in his third World Cup for his country, with a medal for winning it back in 2002. To say Brazil is the favorite to win the entire tournament would be quite an understatement, but don’t tell the Portuguese that. The style of play that brings to mind the phrase “Joga Bonito” is a free-flowing, multi-passing, ball-skilled type of attacking. The Brazilians have mastered it over the years, and not many can duplicate it. Oh wait, the Portuguese can. And they have a FIFA World Player Of The Year winner on their team by the name of Cristiano Ronaldo. He plays at the same club with Kaka, and emulates the exact same style of play that most Brazilians are gifted with. Teaming with Ronaldo on the attack will be Simao (club: Atletico Madrid) and Nani (Manchester United), two super-talented ball control freaks who can make blazing quick runs down the wings. The midfield is held by Deco (Chelsea), a veteran World Cup player for Portugal who has been playing against top talent in the world for over a decade-and-a-half. His experience goes along with another veteran of the defense, Ricardo Carvalho, who plays alongside Deco at Chelsea. The most watched game of the opening-round group stage will definitely be this dream match-up between these two talent-laden countries. But despite Portugal’s lack of experience in the World Cup over the decades (a third place finish in 1966 is the best they’ve done), their ability to qualify for the previous three Cups this past decade have shown that they are ready to compete against the most talented country to ever play the beautiful game. The headlines that certain players get off of the pitch (Cristiano, Ronaldinho, Kaka) only adds to the global intrigue that will fuel many other countries to watch this game as if it was their own team playing. That cannot be said for many other teams across the world.Ultimately, when these two teams battle on the pitch, the determining factor could come down to who needs the game more to advance. With their match-up being held as the last game in group play, points could be at a premium to see if one of these two countries has to go home. But who am I kidding…. Brazil will win this game no matter what the stakes are. Their ability to outplay anyone at any time makes them the clear favorite to win by at least two, or more, goals. It all depends on how much of a show they want to put on. For this game, you can bet they will pull out all the tricks to show the world their true dominance. Head over to www.sportsbook.com and place your World Cup bets now.

What Differentiates Ncaa 09 Football Video Game From Its Older Versions
Fans anticipating the release of NCAA 09 probably won’t be disappointed when they finally get to play the game. EA seems to have focused on refining options and feel of the running game, certainly what you’d expect from a NCAA game. Also, NCAA 09 comes with a new Break Away Animation Engine to provide larger cutback lanes and bigger holes for the offense and greater opportunities for players in the clear.
Screens and Stadiums
Many have compared and contrasted the screens and stadiums of both NCAA Football 08 and its 09 version. The lighting, texture, colors and other details have contributed to a more authentic look for the NCAA 09.
Playing to the Crowds
One change that EA is probably hoping fans would love is the enhanced crowd system. Now players can customize stadium music and sounds, choose the crowd’s reaction to breakaways, and of course, expect to have mayhem and confusion cloud decisions of the teams. Visuals for the crowds have also been improved. You’ll notice that there are more people in the sidelines, from mascots to cheerleaders to backup players, and lighting and texture for the fields had also been improved.
Mascot Mode
Acknowledging the importance of team mascots, NCAA 09 now allows players to customize celebrations whenever a touchdown is scored. NCAA 09 also allows for several mascot games, but the jury’s still out on this one since it’s too early to tell how NCAA fans will react to this.
Choice of Players
With NCAA 09, game users can expect new college player models to be available for their teams together with over fifty alternate uniforms to choose from. Non-players may think uniforms don’t make a difference to the game you play, but NCAA enthusiasts certainly know better.
Game Enhancements
First off, expect to adjust to several changes – all for the better, though, so don’t worry – to how the recruiting system’s going to work. Rest assured that you can look forward to fair play when it comes to choosing recruits for your team.
College specific tackling engines have also been added, making your game all the more accurate. So if you’re playing for the #1 team in the West Division, don’t expect your tackling engine to be similar to the #1 team in the East. Also, players have now been granted the ability to return missed field goals. In relation to this, you also get better passing control, bobble catches, smart routes, formation audibles, and bluffed plays so that players near you won’t have the chance to find out about your game plan.
So far, we’ve mentioned the added features to help you win a game. But as far as added features to make a game more enjoyable are concerned, NCAA 09 brings to you offline cooperative play up to four players. Not only that, but you can also expect new play-by-play sequences and post-game presentations, many mini-games to while away the time, quick replay and post play continuation, and random play selection for practices. Last but not the least, NCAA 09 also allows you to play now using the even teams option.
So what are you waiting for? Go tackle NCAA 09!
The Basics Of American Football
Fundamentally, an American football team is composed of two entirely different elements, the defensive team and the offense, which strives to score touchdowns by entering the opposing team’s “end zone”. This is worth 6 points that can be increased by after-scoring kick, which adds one point. An alternative way to score by kicking is by choosing to relinquish trying for a touch down and opting to kick a field goad, worth 3 points. The defensive team attempts to block scoring.
The game begins with an arbitrary coin toss, whereupon the winning team decides whether to go first or let his opponent have the first try at scoring. Why do this? Many teams like to get a look at the opposition’s offense first. The team is then given a set of 4 “downs” or attempts to traverse 10 yards. Having successfully done this, they receive another set of downs and in this way they make it toward the opposing end zone. If the team falls to make the 10 yards it must turnover the ball to the opposing team, who will then start its journey from the exact position on the field. However, to put the opposing team at a disadvantage, the offensive team will usually choose to punt on the 3rd down to ensure that their opponents will start near to their own end zone. This technique is not without risk.
A player specialized in kicking enters the game and a designated player holds the ball. Equally specialized defensive players try to block it. A blocked kick is a free for all that can result in the opposing team getting both ball possession and an advantageous plying opposition. The opposition’s kick receivers pose another danger since they are very fast sprinters who may be able to run the entire length of the field.
How des the offensive team use its downs to score? Offensive teams have a “game plan” prearranged by several coaches. The quarterback, the leader onfield may change this plan as he sees opportunities or weaknesses in the defense. Before play the offensive team “huddle” to formulate the next play. They then line up with the offensive line, knuckles down on the “line of scrimmage”, nose to nose with a similarly lined up defense. They form a veritable wall to keep the quarterback safe. Behind this wall are 2 halfbacks and the safety who hands the ball to the quarterback behind him. This handout is known as the “snap” and sets play and both teams in motion.
Upon receiving the ball from the “snap” the quarterback must either hand off the ball to a running back or tight end, who run through the defenders. There are also ends, who run or catch passes or the QB may drop back and pass the ball to an end or a wide receiver, who flanks the line and is quick enough to run downfield and get in the open.
Each game proceeds with this alternation of ball possession for four 15 minute “quarters”, which are extended indefinitely by team substitutions, time outs, incomplete passes, play reviews and other things which all stop the clock.
Football Betting Secrets: Get 90% Winning Bet’s on the Football
Would you like to know how you can make good money from your football betting? Well, this is the right time! Check out the whole article from just one of the sensational systems now available at Compiler System. Do you bet in the same way, what is described there?
An Extract from the Secret Manuals:
This weekend you have spent no time looking at the teams you are betting on you simply pick 4 teams you like the look of and hand your cash to the bookmaker hoping for a good weekend, Your bet is as follows:
£10 accumulator
Man Utd to win @ 1.33 (3/10) Everton to win @ 1.50 (1/2) Preston to win @ 1.28 (2/7) Hibs to win @ evens
Your banker is Man Utd, the rest are evens or better so you have a better chance of winning than not winning right? Wrong.
Every selection that comes in after the first selection with accumulators statistically multiplies in the chance that it will lose. If you were to place £10 on this game you would win back £51.43 if they all came up….
But the chance of this happening is actually 11/1, so basically you win 5 times your money back when you win, but this only happens around 1 in 10 weekends – only half your money back, this sounds familiar…
BUT WAIT.
…Certain Bets ‘CENSORED’ will win more than 9 out of 10 times…’
We have had to censor this information is FAR too sensitive to be available on this website; we are talking into the bookies are trying to BAN! This is the Real Deal and it works perfectly to LEVEL STAKES.
Different Types Of Fantasy Football Leagues
Interest in fantasy football is growing by leaps and bounds. If you are interested in owning a fantasy football team, one of the most important decisions you will need to make will be in regards to the type of league you should join. There are many different types of fantasy football leagues and it is important to make the right decision. Read on for tips to help you understand the different types of teams and decide which one is right for you.
The most popular type of leagues are the standard draft leagues. These types of leagues are begun with teams in which the players are selected in a serpentine style of draft. Lineups can then be selected by the owners on a weekly basis. This is usually based on the number of players per position as allowed by league rules. There are actually two different types of standard draft leagues. These are total points and head to head. The difference between the two is that with a head to head league each team is matched up against a different team each week. The team that receives the most points is recorded as the winning team. Teams with the best records at the end of the season play in playoff games at the end of the season in order for a final champion to be determined. With a total points league, wins and losses are not tracked. Instead, points are accumulated on a continual basis. Standings are then determined according to the total points of the teams. At the end of the regular season, the teams with the highest number of total points meet for playoff games.
The auction draft league can also be comprised of either a total points system or a head to head system. Unlike the standard draft league; however, the auction draft league utilizes owners who have an amount of money that is predetermined that they can bid on for players to complete their rosters.
With the dynasty league, players are on the same roster from one season to the next unless they are released or they are traded. Drafts are held for rookies only after the first season.
Keeper leagues combine some of the features between dynasty leagues and standard draft leagues. A draft is held before the beginning of every regular season in order for many of the players to be drafted; however, owners can keep a select number of players from the prior season.
IDP leagues use defensive players in an individual manner rather than in defensive units. This type of league can be a bit harder to organize for the owners because it means more thought will usually need to be given to filling the other positions.
A survivor leagues uses just about any kind of draft you wish; however, they most commonly use auction or standard style drafts. The main difference between this type of league and all of the other leagues is that each week one team is eliminated based on who scores the least number of points.

How David Beckham has boosted “soccer” in America
The arrival of David Beckham at the Los Angeles Galaxy team a couple of years ago may not have provided much success for the club itself, but it has certainly raised the profile of the “beautiful game” in the United States.
Beckham and Posh brought together the VIP celebrity culture and the higher echelons of the footballing world in a way that had never been seen before in America. Before his arrival (in fact even now), the top American footballers could only dream of earning a fraction of the astronomical figures bandied about when Beckham’s overall wages are mentioned.
But still, he seems to have had the desired impact of raising the game at grassroots level, as well as in the celebrity world. This was emphasised by the massive crowds on show when Chelsea, AC Milan and Inter Milan appeared in the States for a pre-season tournament. Every game was played in front of a sell-out crowd. I seem to remember over 100,000 being at one match involving Chelsea, dwarfing the numbers seen at pre-season games even in England.
The rise in the popularity of “soccer” has also seen a rise in the blogs and fan-sites appearing in the States, and a few have caught my eye recently as they seem to have a completely different way of looking at football than the English natives. Maybe we should change it to “soccer” too, it might change our attitudes!
I particularly like the strangely named AmongTheThugs (a reference to a book by American writer Bill Bruford about UK hooligans from the nineties i believe, although it is not mentioned on the site). This is a site set up by six West Coast football fans, who between them support five different English teams, and they have a delightfully humorous outlook on the football scene in England. No-one is safe from their jibes and i find myself regularly checking back to see who their jokes are aimed at next.
They have recently asked why Carlo Ancelotti would deliberately throw a game against Wigan which i found quite amusing, and they projected a new eye protection for Van Persie to wear when he next faces Adebayor!
Another one that tickled me is the comparison of Carlos Tevez to a Caveman! You have to see them to get the jokes, so go over and have a look. You will not be disappointed. The good-natured ribbing of the teams supported by the other writers is something you just don’t get in angry old England! If you are into soccer and like a laugh, check it out, you won’t be disappointed with AmongTheThugs!
