World Cup Corporate Gifts Are On Their Way ‘ Read All About Them In This Article
Just before we look at what promotional merchandise are out there for this year’s World Cup in South Africa we have to get one thing completely straight. And I apologise to those of you who already are aware of this. You should not under any conditions print the official logo on any business items, promotional merchandise or anything else unless you are an official sponsor or you are manufacturing promotional products for a customer of yours who is.
Each time a large event like this or the Olympics comes around there are almost always armies of people organized to make illegal duplicates of everything associated with the event. However over the past ten years or so sponsors have begun to fight back. Many of them have invested in some very costly advertisements warning individuals that they will not hesitate to take them to court if they infringe any aspect of their extremely costly sponsorship deal
In past times millions of products such as printed T-shirts, promotional bottled water and even leather conference folders were confiscated and destroyed in a crackdown on counterfeit trading. It is hardly a revelation when you think that these companies are spending literally millions of pounds on sponsorship with a good part of that being used to produce business items or corporate clothing.
OK so that’s enough of the lecture now let us see exactly what promotional products are available for this year’s World Cup. Well the regular old favourites of printed T-shirts, embroidered polo shirts and promotional baseball caps definitely head the list so far as promotional merchandise is concerned. And undoubtedly there will be millions and millions of the usual suspects such as promotional keyrings, printed mugs, cheap plastic pens etc. Promotional face paints have become very popular over the past ten years and the addition of rub on skin transfers have made these promotional products even more in demand.
The range of promotional soccer balls has once again increased and the wide variety of coatings and print techniques is really astonishing. There is simply nothing that can’t be printed onto the surface of one of these excellent promotional products. Promotional Lanyards that can hold mobile phones or even promotional bottled water are already exceptionally popular because they are relatively inexpensive yet pretty visible so companies like that combination. Promotional Flash drives are also on top of the list for corporations with a marginally larger budget. Noisemakers will dominate the less costly sector of the market with plastic-type trumpets and promotional whistles topping the most commonly purchased products.
Corporate clothing is also going to be very popular, the climate will be good for the finals however some of the earlier rounds are being played at altitude where the temperatures can drop in the evening. Therefore you will probably see quite an interest in light-weight promotional jackets in addition to printed T-shirts and embroidered polo shirts.
Whatever decision you take for your World Cup promotional items do if possible order it as soon as you can. The earlier the order is in the pipeline the better the chance you have of having it delivered in plenty of time. If you are shipping promotional items out to South Africa rather than distributing them in your own local market be aware that the Import Customs red tape can be very complicated and items can often be delayed for quite a while. The last thing that you will want is to have your goods turning up a few days after the event is over.
Satellite TV For PC Is Very Expensive – Not!
When I heard about the latest TV technology the first thing I thought about was “How much is this going to cost me? How far will this set me back?”
When I discovered that they were offering over 4,000 channels, and 90 million free movies I could download to my laptop and take with me anywhere, to watch any place I choose, I was very excited, but again I’m thinking…
“How much is this going to cost me? How far will these 4,000 channels and 90 million free movies set me back in the pocket book?”
Come on, you and I both know every time a new technology is released to the public the cost for it starts out so high you’d get a nose bleed trying to afford it. That’s what I was thinking as I read all of the amenities that came with this new Satellite TV system. I almost stopped reading because the package came with so much “stuff” I just knew I wouldn’t want to be able to afford it.
As it turns out, Satellite TV for PC is a type of software application that was actually developed over 8 years ago. What’s even more important is that because it really was free before all the prime-time channels were added they just couldn’t shock people with an extravagant price tag.
What I’m trying to say is that you can get over 4,000 channels of TV pretty darn cheap. Let’s compare what you get to what you are likely paying right now for Cable TV or normal Satellite TV;
Again you get well over 4,000 channels that include your Favorite TV Shows such as – Soap Operas – Comedies – Game shows – Reality – Dramas – Cartoons – Documentaries – News – And Late night TV programs…
You get to watch Sports Online plus enjoy live Sports: Football – Basketball – Baseball – Tennis – Soccer – Hockey – NASCAR – Formula One – Golf and a whole lot more.
Are the channels as good as HD? No. not quite, but some are very, very close. Are you limited to watching them only on your PC or Laptop? Absolutely not! However, you can watch ESPN, HBO, BBC, MTV and thousands of others from any PC, anywhere in the world, no matter where you are in the world.
The most intriguing aspect of Satellite TV to PC is the price – There is NO monthly fee! You only pay one small fee and you have a massive array of TV choices forever.
Remember this is a computer software application and all you need to convert your computer into a TV / Computer Hybrid is a simple download.
Cable TV can’t touch this, and like Cable TV regular Satellite TV systems lag way behind both in viewing options and price. The simple truth is Satellite for PC works great and you’ll be nuts not to check it out for yourself.
Gm Doesn’t C? a Swot Analysis of Gmc
In today’s economy, with skyrocketing gas prices and an uncertain political landscape, American consumers are turning more and more to gas saving vehicles. GM has given the public a taste of its long-term strategy regarding this issue with the recent news that it will be closing its Hummer division. The goal of this writing is to provide a simple SWOT analysis of GM’s other truck division, GMC. The reader can draw his or her own conclusions, but I believe it to be clear that GM may want to go consider going another direction with this profitable yet gas-guzzling division.
Over 100 years ago, when there were hundreds of small companies dotting the landscape of the American auto industry, the then fledgling General Motors acquired a small commercial truck manufacturer named Rapid Motor Vehicle Company. Around the same time, GM also purchased a small car company named Reliance Motor Car Company. These two companies would soon be merged to form the GMC Truck division. Since then, GMC has gone on to become one of the best known, most reliable, and most popular truck manufacturers in the world. With that brief background, we begin our SWOT analysis.
As already noted above, GMC is a very popular brand name. We see GMC trucks everyday as we drive to work. We see them in peoples’ yards, their beds filled with mulch as landscapers work nearby on pretty flower beds. This is GMC’s greatest strength. This notoriety has led to GMC being GM’s second best selling division behind Chevrolet. Their trucks are also strong and durable. They are marketed to people who will use trucks as they were intended to be used. In this respect, they’ve carved themselves a sizeable niche. Another strength, believe it or not, is gas mileage. While still a V-8 guzzler, GMC and Chevy have the best EPA fuel estimates of all domestic trucks.
Let’s move on to weaknesses. As I see it there are two glaring weaknesses for GMC. The first is the public perception that it GMC is the same as Chevy. This is hard to dispute as, save for a few minor cosmetic differences, the trucks are largely the same. This includes engine and package choices. One merely needs to visit each of their websites to view the minute differences. I literally built the same truck on each site. The only difference, of course, is the badge. The other major weakness for GMC is the fact that in an increasingly penny-pinching, fuel sipping society, all they make is trucks for the consumer. With sales for trucks and SUVs dropping like a penny from the Empire State Building, they are in danger of finding themselves going the way of the dodo bird. As we have seen recently with Hummer and in the not too distant past with Oldsmobile, GM is clearly not afraid to part ways with well established brands to help their bottom line.
And now for opportunities. It’s pretty hard to change perceptions when for generations, you’ve been known strictly as a truck company. You’re associated with big engines, muddy trails, and construction sites. Luckily, GM has an ace up their sleeve. That ace is hybrid technology. GMC has already integrated hybrid technology into their lineup of vehicles. A strong emphasis on this technology would show the consumer that while GMC is a truck company, they are also forward thinking and environmentally conscious. They are “going green”, to use one of todays buzz words. Another opportunity for GMC lies in the SUV market. They have long been entrenched in this market, but they now have the ability to appeal to a wider demographic. Soccer moms now seem to prefer the SUV over the mini-van even with rising gas prices. A quick review of GMC’s website shows that many of their SUVs are in fact luxurious but still utilitarian. Additional opportunities exist to make strides in the compact SUV market where GMC has yet to get its feet wet.
Naturally, there are numerous threats in the light-duty truck market. The market is flooded with trucks from all manufacturers claiming to have the highest payload or the most horse power. How do you differentiate? To this point, GMC has countered this threat fairly well with their “Professional Grade Trucks” ad campaign. A brilliant piece of marketing given the surplus of trucks and advertisements currently on the market. With the well known Ford F-150 having been the top seller for decades, and foreign manufacturers with their already stellar reputations for quality entering the market in recent years, it may become increasingly hard for this American icon to stay competitive. Time will tell.
How to Make a Good Bet on World Series and World Cup Odds
Everyone knows that baseball is America’s favorite past time, and as a consequence the playoff and World Series games have consistently high ratings. This has an immense effect on major sports betting lines as well. MLB players are celebrated more predominantly than their counterparts in the NFL and NBA.
World Series odds are a lot more complicated and tricky in the regular baseball season as compared to the post-season games. In order to win on World Series odds or betting lines, it is imperative to know your teams inside out. This will not only make it easier to pick the winner, but if you predict the winning team early on, you can expect some excellent rewards that are worth the risk taken. As World Series odds differ slightly with the ball game betting lines, you need to pay extra attention to place a winning wager. If you know all the teams thoroughly and can pick the winning team early on with certainty, then you have a much better chance of making a profit from betting on World Series.
Moreover, as baseball is driven by passion and superstition, interpreting and making winning bets on the World Series odds requires and equal amount of research, betting knack and art. You need to understand that solely relying on online sports book’s betting odds will do more harm than good, as these odds change big time with public influence and money. Like any other game, weather, injuries, and hometown advantage surely affects the odds to a larger extent, however it is equally important to consider the intangibles like curses, superstitions and other factors while evaluating World Series odds.
Another popular event in terms of sports betting lines is the World Cup. Football, or soccer, attracts millions of bettors who carefully study the World Cup odds to pick the winner and get rewards. As most Word Cup bettors are willing to go beyond the norm when it comes to statistics that are used when evaluating a World Cup odd, several online sports books also calculate yards per point, yards per pass attempt, points per 100 yards and other statistics that are believed to give an added advantage over other bettors.

The PS3 is a fantastic console with a variety of games available; the quality is unrivalled and looks very sleek and modern. Since its release in November 2006, over 15 million have been sold which shows the popularity of the PS3. One of the great things about the PS3 is that updates are constantly available, for example, on Pro Evolution Soccer 2009; each team gets updated after the weekend’s games which mean the game is up to date with the latest news and players.
The Nintendo Wii offers a totally different gaming experience as they try and move away from the traditional way of playing games. The idea of the Wii is to become more active whilst still enjoying the great games on offer; this was confirmed by the release of Wii Fit aimed at making fitness fun.

A Soccer Legend: Diego Maradona
Life offers us some truly close choices at times when it comes to figuring out what’s best; Pepsi or Cola? Puppies or kittens? Pele or Maradona? All of these pairs have several common factors that make them great, but they’re also unique in their own way and that’s exactly the case with the Pele and Maradona comparison, a comparison that sparked enormous and passionate debates throughout modern history. In the 1970s, Pele had already established himself as a huge name in soccer and was already being considered the greatest player to have ever lived. No one even came close to his glory, until a short, stuffed Argentinean player called Maradona walked on the soccer field for the first time. Maradona was born in a poor family, but as with all Argentinean families of that time, soccer was a central part of their lives. Maradona and his two younger brothers started up playing soccer from an early age and he was spotted as a great talent around age 11, when he was taken to the youth squad of Buenos Aires’ Argentinos Juniors, where he would amuse spectators with his juggling tricks during halftimes in the senior squad’s games.Soon enough, Maradona established himself in the senior squad at age 16, being called for the national team around the same time. He played his first World Cup in 1982, scoring twice in 5 matches but also receiving a red card for a vicious foul. With Argentina beaten by Italy in the second round, Maradona had to wait another 4 years to get a chance at the shiny trophy and when he got that chance, he grabbed it with both hands. The 1986 World Cup is deemed by many as the most spectacular one in the history of soccer and Maradona has a lot to do with that. He scored 5 goals throughout the Cup and also made 5 assists, but it would be the quarter-final against England that will remain in history. Maradona scored two goals that would cement his legend as both an outstanding and a tricky player. His first goal of the match was scored with the hand, but the referee allowed it. Highly controversial, this goal later became known as the “Maradona hand of God goal”. The second goal of the match, scored just 4 minutes after the Hand of God, is still widely known as the “Goal of the Century”. Maradona picked up the ball close to his own penalty box and started a sprint that would end up in the English goal, 15 seconds, 70 meters, 5 defenders and a goalkeeper later.Although his career was garnished with controversy, ranging from pitch-brawling to cocaine abuse, Maradona remains one of the most important figures in modern sports and together with Pele and Johan Crujff, forms the golden trio of all time soccer.
Satellite TV Programming Options (that You Won’t Find With Cable)
Once upon a time, in an age long past, cable companies offered the best TV programming available. However, that has changed. Cable companies, once the wave of the future, are now yesterday’s news and have been relegated to the mists of time by many consumers. Why have so many consumers across the nation forsaken the cable companies? What is behind this new trend in TV programming? Satellite TV programming is responsible for this dramatic shift in consumer watching habits. Why has satellite TV had such a dramatic impact on consumers? The largest reason is, perhaps, the programming options available.
Exclusive Sports Programming – Whether you love baseball, football, soccer, hockey or even cricket, it is vital that you find the sports programming that you want. With cable, you were lucky to find anything more than major games, and those were only relegated to football and baseball. However, satellite providers give you that sports fix that you crave, in almost any dosage size that you want! Do you love football? There are channel packages that will let you watch almost every game during the regular season. Do you love baseball? Perhaps NASCAR or Indy Racing is your thing? You will find those with satellite providers, as well. In short, satellite TV is where the sports you love have found a home. Cable companies cannot even touch the sports programming options available.
High Definition – Do you have an HD TV at home? Is it languishing, with no HD content from your cable company? Then make the switch to satellite TV and find out what TV programming should be! You will find more than 100 HD channels for your enjoyment, from HD music channels to HD movie channels, HD pay-per-view channels, sports channels, educational channels and even HD local channels for many areas. In short, if you love high definition TV and want the very best selection of channels, then satellite TV is the only choice for your needs. Cable companies offer 60 or so HD channels, at best. This is no way to enjoy the hottest programming technology on earth. Satellite providers can kick your enjoyment up more than a few notches with their ever-growing selection of HD programming (as a hint, the number of HD channels is slated to grow exponentially, as well).
Price – Of course, price is a huge concern in these troubled economic times. How much can you expect to pay for your satellite TV programming? Thankfully, satellite TV is more affordable than cable, even with a wider range of channels and better technology. That means you get the programming you want, the technological advancement that you need for HD enjoyment and can expect to pay less for it! It’s no wonder that cable companies are distinctly nervous – they see their extinction spelled out in the dramatic shift of consumer viewing habits, as satellite TV is adopted by more and more consumers. Satellite is the way of the future and cable seems to have no chance of redemption.
The Foot – Part 1
According to the evolutionary view of our biological history we have evolved from creatures which had a four-legged gait, changing gradually to our now very successful and functional walking pattern. Our bipedal gait has had several consequences. One is that our upper limbs have been freed so we can use our hands to do things within our visual fields, leading for worse or better to our dominance of the globe. Second is the necessity for our legs to take all the forces and effort of standing and gait, leading at least potentially to problems coping with such high levels of force. Our feet are adapted to standing, running and walking, not to dance, go skiing, practice skateboarding, lift weights or run competitively. The whole weight of the body and its many activities is transmitted through the feet without any escape. Feet are amazingly stable and strong but also need to be flexible to adapt to changing circumstances. 150,000 miles is the typical distance everyone walks during their life and that’s not accounting for those of us who walk or run regularly or who pursue a sport. However, the foot evolved to walk, stand and run. It did not evolve to do ballet, ski, skateboard, lift heavy weights or skip. The foot receives and copes with every pound of pressure the body exerts upon it in its many activities. The foot is extremely strong and stable, but also adaptable and flexible. It has to cope with a typical 150,000 miles the average person walks in their lifetime, with greater loads imposed by anyone who pursues an athletic activity or simply exercises regularly. When we think about the foot it is important to have at least a small amount of physics knowledge if we are to appreciate how much force it copes with, how it manages competing demands and how little it complains on average. Every time we take a normal step in walking we impose a pressure on our feet equal to at least one and a half times bodyweight. And this is only with easy activities such as walking. Sports such as tennis, jogging, aerobics and soccer can increase these loads to three or four times normal. After considering the speed of movement we have to go back and talk about weight, not a favourite subject but one that involves much anxiety and stress and applies a considerable pressure. Our extra pounds are not just passengers hanging about, they make up an important part of the speed times weight equation. On vigorous movements that extra pound is multiplied many times, to stress our joints, ligaments, bones and muscles. This makes it harder to exercise the heavier we get, setting up a vicious circle where increasing weight leads to decreasing activity. At this point our bodyweight becomes a factor limiting our ability to exercise to reduce our bodyweight. We have many activities we like to partake of and the foot’s job is to allow us the wide variation in strength, stability, flexibility and power to achieve these by accepting, adapting to and exerting the necessary force. The foot is divided into the hindfoot, the midfoot and the forefoot. The phalanges and the metatarsals make up the forefoot. The phalanges are the small toe bones, three in each except for only two in the big toe. There are five metatarsals, recently featuring in the broken feet of important football players, making up the main part of the length of the forefoot. The foot is a complex mechanism for taking, adapting and producing forces to allow us a wide variety of mobility choices to enable us to pursue whatever activity we choose. The main segments of the foot are the forefoot, the midfoot and the hindfoot. The forefoot includes the metatarsals and the phalanges. The five metatarsals, often featuring in the news when a sports star fractures one, are long and prominent bones in the front of the foot, with the phalanges making up the small bones of the toes.
