One of the first types of jewelry making we are going to discuss today is wire jewelry. This type of jewelry making uses any type of metal you choose. You can use something as inexpensive as copper wire or go with pure gold. This type of jewelry making is great for beginners to get started as the techniques you learn for this will be the basis of other types of jewelry making such as beading or metalsmithing. You need about 15 items to get started in this kind of work.
You will need 3 different types of pliers. The first is large bent nosed pliers which is a lot like basic flat nosed pliers. There is no texture or pattern inside of the pliers, like many have to help with grip. That way your wire does not get marked up or have impressions from the grip.
